Zero Takes Graded This Week, 1,612 Roster Calls Waiting on Cutdown Day, and the Field's Six-Win Miss on Kansas City | MissedTakes Daily
Nothing was graded this week. Zero takes, across every prediction type, in the seven days ending August 27. Meanwhile 412 new ones came in. That is the whole shape of late August on this site: last season's results are already scored, this season hasn't produced a result to score, and the queue keeps filling.
The pile that settles first
Of the 11,673 takes currently pending, the ones with the shortest fuse are roster calls. Cutdown day settles them all at once, and the site has barely graded this category before: Roster Spot Calls have 1,612 pending against 49 graded in their entire history. Depth Chart Calls are similar in kind if not degree — 2,876 pending, 415 graded.
The last few days are almost entirely that material. Patricia Traina put Odell Beckham Jr.'s odds of making the Giants' 53 at "closer to 95%" after Calvin Austin III's ACL injury, and has Jalin Hyatt headed to IR instead. Jeff Cavanaugh filed an entire projected Cowboys offensive roster — nine offensive linemen, Ajani Cornelius in over Trevor Keegan, Jonathan Mingo in over Camden Brown — which is a dozen separate gradable calls in one segment. An unsigned CBS Sports piece named eleven players it expects to move before the deadline, from Anthony Richardson to the Bills to Joey Porter Jr. out of Pittsburgh; Trade and Signing Calls sit at 481 pending against 349 graded.
The other growth area is a draft that is twenty months out. There are 676 pending Mock Draft Picks, and the recent ones are 2027 boards: Jordan Reid already has Dallas at No. 24, Charlie Campbell is assigning early-round grades to Leonard Moore and Dante Moore, and Mike Renner has published a top-10 cornerback ranking for the class. For context on what those will eventually be worth: mock picks are the site's largest graded category at 2,913, so we will have plenty to compare them against.
Nobody changed their mind
No reversals were flagged this week. That is not a moral point — it is what you'd expect in a week where nothing resolved and most of the new volume is first-time roster projections rather than revisited season calls.
What the consensus data says
The 2025 win-total board is the cleanest look at where the field was collectively wrong, and Kansas City is still the worst of it: across 13 logged calls, the field averaged 6.3 wins above the Chiefs' actual six. Rich Eisen had them at 15 twice; the lowest number anyone put on them was 10.
The misses run the other way too. New England, Seattle and Denver each won 14, and each finished five wins clear of the field's average. Brady Quinn had Seattle at 5. Nobody in the file had New England above 10.
For 2026, there is nothing to report yet: the win-total consensus returns no team at a three-call minimum. Pundits are talking about roster bubbles and 2027 prospects; they have not yet put gradable numbers on how many games teams will win.
The 2025 award ballots are already closed and they were a good year for the field. Matthew Stafford took 26 of 100 MVP picks and won; Jaxon Smith-Njigba (7 of 20) won Offensive Player of the Year and Myles Garrett (6 of 18) won Defensive Player of the Year, both as the plurality choice. The rookie awards were harder — Tetairoa McMillan tied for the OROY lead at 5 of 29, and Carson Schwesinger won DROY with 4 of 17 while Abdul Carter led the ballot at 5.
One more thing the archive says about timing: takes claimed in April 2026, around the draft, graded out at 67.5 average accuracy over 981 calls. Takes claimed in September 2025, in-season, graded at 40.1 over 887. The cheap calls and the hard calls are not evenly distributed across the calendar, and the hard ones are about to start.
Where the board stands
David Harrison still leads at a 48.77 MissedTakes Score and 68.33 accuracy over 131 graded takes, with Lance Zierlein second at 43.01. Every name in the top ten is still flagged limited confidence except Daniel Jeremiah, who is ninth on 277 graded calls. None of it moved this week, because nothing could.
