Scored under the published methodology, which sets out what counts as right, what a naive guess would have said, and why an earlier call is worth more than a late one.

Here's a look at whose seats are currently the hottest. 7. Nick Sirianni, Philadelphia Eagles ... 6. Dave Canales, Carolina Panthers ... 5. Shane Steichen, Indianapolis Colts ... 4. Todd Bowles, Tampa Bay Buccaneers ... 3. Aaron Glenn, New York Jets ... 2. Zac Taylor, Cincinnati Bengals ... 1. Dan Quinn, Washington Commanders
So I would rank those McCarthy, Vrabel, and then Minter's just an unknown with a major unknown at play caller.
we assess the five coaches with the hottest hot seats ... 5. Shane Steichen, Colts ... 4. Aaron Glenn, Jets ... 3. Todd Bowles, Buccaneers ... 2. Dan Quinn, Commanders ... 1. Zac Taylor, Bengals
McVay, Stafford, Reed Mahomes, Harbaugh, Herbert, Mae Vrabel, Purdy, Shanahan, Williams, Johnson would be my top six.
Sean McVay is the best coach in the NFL.
FOX Sports analyst Colin Cowherd provided his list of the top 10 head coach and quarterback combinations across the league... "I put Shanahan and Purdy at 10"... "Number one to me, and it's a pretty substantial margin, McVay and Stafford."
McDonald to me is arguably the second best coach in the league after McVeigh. He's outstanding.
I also think they might and Aaron Glenn, I don't want to be rude. They might have the worst coach in the NFL
So this Super Bowl caliber tier, I have Sean McVay, Kyle Shanahan, Mike McDonald, Sean Payton, and Dan Campbell in this tier... The leaders of men like you see right there are the Harbaugh's, Jim and John, and Mike Vrabel... Then we have the scheme lords... And you got Ben Johnson, Andy Reid, D'Amico Ryans, Kevin O'Connell, Liam Cohen, and Matt LaFleur... So this need to see more tier is Brian Schottenheimer of Dallas Cowboys, Dave Canales from Carolina Panthers, Kellen Moore from the New Orleans Saints, and Indianapolis Colts Shane Steichen... So this tier is Kevin Stefanski, Todd Bowles, Robert Saleh, Mike McCarthy, and Nick Sirianni... But these are the new first year head coaches, Jeff Halfley, Joe Brady, Jesse Mentor, Clint Kubiak, Todd Monken, and Mike Lafleur... And then we have the final tier of first coach fired potential, and that is Zach Taylor, Dan Quinn, and Aaron Glenn.
So I'll give you the one through 18 here as we close today's episode. Number one, Marv Levy. Number two, Lou Sabin. Number three, Sean McDermott. Number four, Chuck Knox. Five is Wade Phillips. Six, Doug Marone. Seven, Mike Malarkey. Eight, Buster Ramsey. Nine, Joe Collier. 10 is Dick Duran. 11 is Chiang Galey. 12, John Rausch. 13, Kay Stevenson. 14, Rex Ryan. 15, Greg Williams. 16, Hank Bola. 17, Jim Ringo. And 18, Harvey Johnson.
If it was a blank check for every NFL owner and every athletic director that knew what he was doing, McVeagh would be the number one choice... Sean McVay would be number one, Sean Payton would be way up there

But I'm I'm taking it way back for a charger... Best coach of all time, Sid Gilman.
Waiting on the season to settle this.said Jun 17, 2026 Don Coryell, the greatest coach in charger history.
Who would you pick first if you had every NFL coach you could have? McVay, probably. That's who Rosenthal put. Yeah. I think I agree.
I'd probably have Ben Johnson third personally... I'd put Ben Johnson fourth.
Top five coaches on the hot seat For sure. For 2026. Okay. Number five, Aaron Glenn... Todd Bowles is four... Dan Campbell is on the hot seat... Number two, Nick Sirianni... Last one, Rich Eisen, Zach Taylor in Cincinnati.
The full snake draft of head coaches: McVay first overall through Aaron Glenn at thirty-two.
"I would have had him first" (McVay); "I would have had him second too" (Reid).
"I had him sixth on my board" (Reid); "I did have him one spot behind Kyle Shanahan" (McDonald); "I had Lafleur nine"; "I had him sixteenth" (Schottenheimer); "I had him twenty third on my list" (Sirianni).
"he was certainly at the top of my tier one" (McVay); "he's my number three overall coach in the first tier" (McDonald); "he was, let's see, fourth on my overall big board" (Shanahan).
McVay, I believe, is the best coach in the NFL.
I think that not only is Sean McVay the number one coach in the NFL, I think he's the most important coach in all of professional sports.
As great as Mike McDonald is, I think mcveigh's the second best coach in the NFL
Best head coach in the NFC East. He is right now. Quinn second, Shadi third.
