The San Francisco 49ers were founded in 1944 in San Francisco, California, and now play their home games at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, where the club is also headquartered. Owner Jed York presides over a front office led by general manager John Lynch, with Kyle Shanahan serving as head coach. The Niners have experienced dramatic swings in fortune over the past decade and a half.
